Each 1200cc grow kit includes a container filled with fully matured mycelium substrate, a grow bag with an air filter, paper clips, and a step-by-step guide. You don’t need anything else: no extra nutrients, no special equipment. Water and a suitable room temperature (23–26°C) are all you need.

How long will it take before I can harvest?

After soaking, it takes an average of 1 to 2 weeks for the first pinheads to appear. After that, the mushrooms grow rapidly, and you can harvest them within 5 to 7 days of the first pinheads appearing. The total turnaround time from the first soak to the first harvest is usually between 10 and 20 days, depending on the strain and the temperature in your home.

How many flushes does a 1200cc grow kit yield?

Most 1200cc kits yield two to three flushes. The first flush is usually the largest. After each harvest, soak the substrate again for 12 hours to stimulate the next flush. If you want larger harvests per kit, the 2100cc XL grow kits are a better choice.

Which type is best for beginners?

Golden Teacher and Cambodian are the most beginner-friendly options. Golden Teacher is known for its forgiving grow profile and mellow effects. What is the difference between a 1200cc and a 2100cc grow kit?

The difference lies in the volume of the substrate. A 2100cc XL kit contains nearly twice as much mycelium, resulting in larger harvests per flush. The cultivation method is identical. If you’ve never grown before, start with a 1200cc kit to get familiar with the process.

Can I store the grow kit until I'm ready to use it?

That is not recommended. As soon as you receive the kit, it’s best to use it right away. You can store it in the refrigerator for up to 1 to 2 days, but the longer you wait, the greater the risk of reduced yield or contamination. Plan your order for a time when you can get started right away.

Are there any risks associated with using magic mushrooms?

Yes. Psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, can cause anxiety, confusion, or overwhelming experiences at higher doses. Growing magic mushrooms can be a huge job if you start from scratch. Professionals have to work on it for months. Our 1200cc grow kits are so complete that you only need to grow for a few weeks and can then harvest straight away. The kits contain everything you need and detailed instructions for the perfect harvest. Do make sure you set up the kit as soon as you receive it. Keeping it in the fridge for a day is fine, but don't forget to soak the kit well before you start.

Magic mushroom strains in this range

Although the growing method is similar for most strains, the effects differ considerably from strain to strain. Golden Teacher is the most popular starter strain: calm, clear experiences with little chance of overwhelming effects, and a robust growing profile. Mexican is another classic, with energetic and cheerful effects that suit a first time well. Cambodian is noticeably less susceptible to contamination, which makes it ideal if you don't have much experience with sterile technique yet. Mazatapec has a more introspective character and grows a little more slowly, but gives consistent harvests. PES Hawaiian and PES Amazonian are stronger strains with more intense visual effects, less suitable as a very first experience. B+ is known for its broad effect profile and solid flushes. The azurescens spawn bag is a category of its own: Psilocybe azurescens is one of the most potent species and is intended for growers who already have experience.

Storing fresh magic mushrooms

The magic mushroom grow kits produce a few hundred grams of fresh mushrooms per flush. Since 1 to 3 grams dried (roughly 10 to 15 grams fresh) is considered a beginner's dose, you will soon have a sizeable supply left over. Keep fresh mushrooms in the fridge for no more than 5 to 10 days. If you want to keep them longer, dry them thoroughly at a low temperature and store them in a dark, dry place. Properly dried mushrooms keep for months.

Growing magic mushrooms: what is allowed and what isn't

Buying and selling magic mushrooms is prohibited in the Netherlands, but grow kits are not. You are allowed to get started with magic mushroom grow kits at home. Besides grow kits, magic truffles are also legally available, because they do not have the fruiting bodies of mushrooms. So you can grow your own within the legal framework. If you are using a grow kit for the first time, make sure you are in calm surroundings, don't plan any obligations, and have someone sober present if you are unsure about the dose.
