Trance Mix - herbal blend for the vaporizer
Trance Mix is made from three herbs: salvia divinorum, passionflower and catmint. Salvia divinorum is a plant in the Lamiaceae family, originally from the Sierra Mazateca in Mexico, where it was traditionally used by Mazatec healers. Its active compound is salvinorin A, a terpenoid that acts as a selective kappa-opioid receptor agonist. This is a different target than classic psychedelics such as psilocybin or LSD, which act on the serotonin 5-HT2A receptor; it explains why the salvia experience differs in character, being more dissociative and much shorter in duration. Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) contains harmine and harmaline among other compounds and has long been used in herbal teas and blends as a calming herb. Catmint (Nepeta cataria) is mainly known to people as a tea herb with a mild, relaxing reputation, separate from its effect on cats.
Dosage
Start with a small amount, especially if you haven't worked with salvia divinorum before: a lightly filled vaporizer chamber is enough to get to know the effect. When vaporized, salvia divinorum typically takes effect within seconds to a minute and the effects are short-lived, usually lasting a few minutes. Combining with alcohol is not recommended.
Use
Vaporize a small amount of the mix and inhale the vapour. Trance Mix is not intended for smoking or brewing as tea.
Storage
Store the blend dry, dark and airtight, out of reach of children, to preserve the active compounds as well as possible.
