Stash Hammer - Aluminum
This stash hammer pairs a working tool with a hidden storage compartment. From the outside it doesn't stand out among the rest of your tools: the handle is rubber for a solid grip, and the head is aluminum. What you can't see from the outside is that the head is hollow. Unscrew it and you'll find a cylindrical storage space measuring 7.5 cm long and 3.7 cm in diameter, just enough room for a few rolled-up banknotes, a spare key, or other small items you'd rather keep out of sight.
Because it's a real hammer head, you can also use it to actually drive a nail. That's what makes the disguise convincing: a stash that looks suspicious defeats the purpose.
Use and care
Unscrew the head on the side opposite the handle to reach the storage compartment; a cap keeps the contents in place. Screw the cap back on firmly after use so nothing falls out during transport. Avoid using the hammer forcefully on a hard surface while there's still something stored inside, since that can damage the cap.
Thanks to its size, the hammer fits in a bag or the inside pocket of a backpack, so it works just as well at home as on the road. The aluminum head keeps the weight down compared to a steel-headed hammer, without sacrificing the sturdiness needed to actually use it as a tool.
