Black Leaf stash box: store and collect pollen in one box
This is the small version of the Black Leaf pollen box. From the outside a neat wooden box, on the inside a clever system. The middle compartment has a floor of fine mesh. Put your dried herbs in it, and over time the loose resin grains sift through. They land on a sheet of brown glass in the bottom drawer.
How to use the box
Slide the lid open and place your herbs in the middle compartment. Keep them there, or tap the side gently a few times to speed up the sifting. When you want to harvest, pull out the bottom drawer and push the powder together with a card. The dark glass shows clearly how much has collected. Both drawers stay shut thanks to small magnets, so the box won't open by itself when you move it.
Wood and glass
The frame is beech, a hard, sturdy wood. The middle compartment and the sliding lid are lighter pine. The collection plate is glass, so nothing gets stuck in the grain.

Care
Wood doesn't like water. Wipe the box dry and gently brush the mesh clean with a soft, dry brush. You can wipe the glass plate with a little alcohol. Keep the box out of the sun and away from the radiator, so the wood stays straight.

Is the box airtight?
No, it's a wooden box with a sliding lid. For long-term storage an airtight jar is better, this box is made for sifting and keeping things at hand.
Do I still need a grinder?
The box only sifts. If you want to grind as well, choose a 4-part grinder like the Black Leaf Ombre grinder.
