Tuff-1000 vandal-proof scale - 1000 x 0.1 gram
The Tuff-Weigh Tuff-1000 is a digital precision scale designed above all to withstand rough handling. The sturdy green rubber housing protects the electronics from drops and knocks, making this scale better suited for carrying around than a fragile model without protection. Underneath the housing sits a full precision scale with a backlit digital display, so you can read it clearly even in poor lighting.
The weighing range runs up to 1000 grams, with a readout accuracy of 0.1 gram. That makes the Tuff-1000 suitable for both small quantities and larger portions, unlike most compact pocket scales, which are often limited to 100 or 300 grams. Because the unit is bigger and heavier than a pocket scale, it is less likely to slip into a trouser pocket, but in return the rubber housing makes it better able to survive a drop from a table or workbench.
Use and maintenance
Place the scale on a flat surface and switch it on with the power button. Use the tare function to zero out the weight of an empty bowl or bag first, so you only weigh the contents. After a period of inactivity, the Tuff-1000 switches off automatically to save the batteries. Clean the weighing plate occasionally with a dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid contact with liquids, even though the housing itself is impact resistant.
