Gelatin ''000'' 100 Empty Capsules
These empty capsules are size "000", the largest size in the standard capsule range carried by Dutch-Smart. A capsule of this size holds up to around 950 mg of dry powder, with a maximum capacity of roughly 1370 mg for very dense powder; the exact amount depends on the density of the powder you use. Like the smaller sizes "00" and "0", the capsule consists of two interlocking halves (cap and body) made of gelatin, an animal protein derived from collagen. As a result, these capsules are not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. Size "000" is mainly chosen when you want to fit a relatively large amount of powder, herbal blend or supplement into a single capsule, for example with herbs that have a low concentration of active compound per gram.
Use
Pull the two halves of a capsule apart, fill the body with the desired powder or herbal blend and press the cap back on until you feel it click. Because of the larger size, "000" is somewhat harder to swallow in one go than "00" or "0"; take it with enough water, preferably sitting upright. Filling a whole pack by hand takes time, especially with 100 pieces; the "000" Capsule Filler spreads the powder evenly over the open bodies and fills a large number of capsules at once. Weigh or measure the amount of powder per capsule if you want to keep a consistent dose per piece.
Storage
Store the capsules dry and away from direct sunlight, preferably in the closed original packaging. Gelatin is sensitive to moisture: too much humidity can make the capsules soft or sticky, while an overly dry environment can make them brittle. Keep them away from a humid room such as the bathroom.
