Ziiing Energy shot: 150 mg of caffeine in 55 ml
A regular 250 ml can of energy drink usually holds around 80 mg of caffeine. The Ziiing Energy shot packs 150 mg into just 55 ml, close to double the dose at a fraction of the volume. A few sips and you're done, without half a can of sugary liquid.
The flavour is fruit punch: sweet and fruity, with a slightly tart edge from citric and malic acid. There's no sugar in it. The sweetness comes from sucralose.
What's inside?
Caffeine is the active ingredient. It blocks adenosine receptors in the brain, so you feel less tired. Most people notice it within 15 to 45 minutes, and it lasts a few hours. The shot also contains taurine and D-glucuronolactone, both common in energy drinks, plus citicoline. Sodium benzoate is added as a preservative.
Responsible use
One shot at a time is enough. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) considers 200 mg of caffeine per serving and 400 mg per day safe for healthy adults. Count your coffee, tea, cola and other energy drinks too. Don't drink it right before bed and don't mix it with alcohol: caffeine masks the feeling of being drunk, not the effects of the alcohol itself. Take care when combining it with other energizers as well, especially ones that contain caffeine or guarana.
