Acacia Confusa Root Bark - Whole
Acacia confusa is a tree from the legume family, native to Taiwan and Hawaii, where it can grow up to 15 metres tall. We offer the root bark of older trees: the bark we supply is ethically harvested from trees between 60 and 100 years old. This product consists of the whole root bark, cut into pieces of 2 to 5 centimetres, without further processing or additives.
Acacia confusa bark is naturally rich in tannins: scientific research on the plant shows that the root bark in particular contains a high concentration of these compounds, higher than in the stem or the leaves. Tannin-rich acacia species have traditionally been used for that reason to dye fabrics and tan leather. The Acacia confusa we offer is intended as an ethnobotanical herb. It is not our intention to offer this product for human use.
Use
We sell Acacia confusa root bark as an ethnobotanical and educational product, for lovers of unusual plants and anyone interested in the botany and traditional applications of the tree, such as dyeing and tanning with the tannin-rich bark. We make no claims whatsoever about effects, dosage, or suitability for consumption. Use of this product is entirely at the buyer's own responsibility and intended solely as a botanical curiosity or for educational research.
Storage
Store the root bark in a cool, dry, and dark place, preferably in an airtight container, to prevent mould and loss of quality. This keeps the product suitable as a botanical curiosity for a long time. At Dutch-Smart you'll also find other ayahuasca-related ethnobotanical herbs such as Banisteriopsis caapi and Bobinsana in our range.
