Tumbled Brass - Zippo
Zippo launched the Brass collection in 1982 to celebrate the brand's 50th anniversary. Within that line, the Classic Tumbled Brass is one of the most-carried finishes: the brass is tumbled into a subtle, amber-toned texture that doesn't shine like polished brass but instead has a softer, warmer glow. That finish has a practical upside: fingerprints and handling marks barely show, and the surface develops its own patina over time instead of looking worn.
Underneath, this is a standard Zippo case: the brass shell combines with the familiar click hinge and the silhouette that has barely changed since the company's founding in 1932.
Use and care
A Zippo runs on refillable Zippo lighter fluid, which you drip into the packing through the felt pad under the insert. Roll your thumb across the knurled wheel to strike a spark from the flint and light the fuel-soaked wick. Replace the flint once the wheel sparks less reliably, and refill the packing when the lighter feels dry or the flame weakens. Keep an eye on wick length and trim it back just above the cap if it burns too low.
Clean the brass surface with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid harsh cleaning agents on the tumbled finish, as they can affect the texture.
